{Senior} Haley

So I’ve fallen behind on posting some blog posts

But I dont want to put it off because there are some beautiful faces here I want to share with everyone

& this one is a Senior Session that I did & she’s getting ready to graduate in just a few weeks

I connected instantly with this young lady

She’s a girl who I saw so much of myself in… why?  Because she has a passion for photography herself AND she wants to work in youth ministry.  Hello?  I just wanted to pour so much of my life experience into her so she would know what lay ahead…

She’s stunning isnt she?

And I loved that some things she brought for her session was her camera and her Bible…

Do you not love her yourself?

This session was in the end of fall 2011… perfect colors… cool evening…

Haley, good luck as you graduate & head into your future…I know God is going to bless the path you take

{Family} McCall Gang

Say hello to the McCall Family

You saw one of the young men earlier in a post I did on a Senior Session.

Well, before we did his pictures, the whole family tagged along for some pictures.

What a fun family!   I instantly could tell the different personalities in the family & how they all were a tad different, but close with each other.

How the Momma of the family loved every one of her kids… how the big sis was looking out for her brothers & very protective of them… how the middle brother was a jokster & full of life… & how the baby was cared for by all & quiet & reserved.

I enjoyed getting to spend the small amount of time that I did with this family…

A moment with a mother & daughter

Is this family like off a picture of a magazine?  They’re all gorgeous…

See?  The Brothers with their sister? … yeah, they are pretty awesome

I loved this picture… just shows how much of a good sport they were… & when they saw the picture, the kids said, “Mom always keeps us grounded” :)  Isnt that great?

They each picked out a word to describe their family… I loved that.  The words were, “Warmth” – “Home” – “Family” – but this word was my favorite.  Because “Chaotic” can be quite fun & interesting…

McCall Family… I pray you all continue to share lots of laughter, fun & chaos together for many years…

I Heart Faces: Hugs & Kisses

This week’s challenge is hugs & kisses.

I have many hugs & kisses with engaged couples, but I love the warmth of this kiss…

This is a family that has the most amazing strength, fighting for their daughter who lives with Infantile Spasms (IS) … But in the midst of all they deal with for their daughter, they keep joy, inspire others & show how amazing this family truly is…

I Heart Faces: By The Book

When I saw what the Subject was for this week’s photo challenge, I knew instantly what picture I would use.

This picture is from a Senior session of a young lady that loves her books.  Being someone who loves books myself, it made me instantly just adore this young lady.

She brought her favorite books for some other pictures, but this is her favorite book of all… love that her eyes still express so much of her beauty.

Fix It Friday

I love to work on editing skills…

So I’m glad to see I Heart Faces back with it Fix-it-Friday’s

I dont have my Photoshop on this computer, but limited editing tools, but still enjoyed playing around.

So what did I do?

Obviously – cropped it up.. I liked this young man to be the center of attention.  I also cloned out the cat that was still a little bit in the picture.

I claned up the face a tad bit, keeping personality.

Then I went with a more muted tone to the picture, using a sepia tone.  My tools here didnt have a way to tone down the coolness of the picture, so I just took out the color eliminating that problem.  I like the way it looks with the hay anyways – more of a natural feel.

You can click the button on the side & go to “I Heart Faces” & download the picture & join in…

{Senior} Zach

Meet Zach….

We did his senior pictures towards the end of summer.  He met me with his whole family towing along.  I did a few pictures for their family for Christmas cards… so here they come, in summer, with sweaters on.  They came prepared for Christmas even in the heat…

I felt a little bad, because when I do pictures, it does involve a lot of walking.  Walking + heat of summer + a long distance = HOT!!!!!  I was literally in my running shorts because I was going to go for a long run afterwards,  & here everyone was in sweaters… poor family!  They were great sports.  Those pictures will be coming soon…

After everyone left, it was time for the camera to zoom in on Zach…

Isnt he just a handsome guy?

We ended up doing a loop through Downtown Louisville… (see… a lot of walking)

There are so many amazing backdrops in the downtown area… & Zach was up for anything.

Zach had 2 of his buddies with him for some pictures too.  They were so great together.  Good to see guys that were good friends.  Usually, you just imagine girls being the “close friend” kinda people… these guys were laughing & enjoying themselves.  You could tell they were just like family to each other.

Poor guys were tired too from a late night football game the night before… but they still knew how to flaunt their GQ side.

My favorite thing about them?  They brought matching shirts & ties… makes me feel warm inside to see this generation of guys wearing ties in their pictures.. classy!

This is probably one of my favorite senior portraits…

Zach just looks so relaxed… the sun was just at the right place…

I wish everyone could look this relaxed in front of the camera everytime…

I always bring my chaulk with me in case there are perfect places for some “graffiti”…

I asked Zach to write his name… he didnt like his handwriting & asked if I could write it for him.

I did… but then it just looked too “girly”… you know, those little flips on the end.  I may have even added a smiley face or heart somewhere :)  In the end, Zach’s handwriting was perfect… I tried to remind him that even if he didnt like it, it was HIS & when he gets older, he’ll appreciate seeing his own handwriting.  It’s the little things of looking back in pictures that you appreciate.

I did learn that it’s great to work with a guy on the move… Zach was able to just switch out his shirts as we were walking.  With girls, you have to find places for the outfit changes… guys are so simple.

And Zach was just the perfect client.  It was like he was a model his whole life.  He would give me a straight face, then a smile & took direction so well… I could take pictures of this guy all day long…

…. not to mention, I could talk with his family & his momma all day long too…

And the word Zach picked?

Isnt that such a STRONG word?  I think Zach has all the determination in the world to make all his dreams come true.

Good luck with the rest of your Senior Year… & all the future plans you hold!

I Heart Faces: Bust a Gut

I love this week’s challenge…

& because I love to capture natural laughter, I didnt know which one to pick… but I ended up going with this one.

3 friends… the girls on the outside are twins & the one in the middle is their best friend.. & you can call the 3rd twin🙂

We were going for a Charlie’s Angel’s pose but the laughter took over… & I preferred it that way anyways…

{Senior} Jordan

This girl….

She is something amazing…

I met Jordan when she was just a little kid running around our church.  Her mother is the Children’s Minister at our church & her dad does about EVERYTHING around the church as well… including wearing dresses.. don’t ask🙂

But I’ve watched Jordan grow up & she’s been in my class since she was a Jr. High Student.

There’s something about her that I just connected with & we just formed a special friendship.  I honestly look at her like my baby sister… so when it was time for her to become a senior – I so badly wanted to do her pictures.  She was up for it too – so we headed out for a day of fun.

The thing is, Jordan is talented beyond talented…

She plays the guitar

She’s funny….

She’s an artist…

She plays more then one instrument…

She has the ability to make people smile

She’s beautiful inside & out…

She’s definitely True to herself & everything she believes in…

I am so blessed to have watch Jordan grow into an amazing young lady who loves her family & loves her God…

Happy Senior Year Jordan!!!  I’ll always love ya Blondie!

I Heart Faces: Raise Your Hands

This week’s challenge is all about hands…

Its funny because I was just talking about this picture with the bride yesterday.  She was telling me that her mother loved this one because their hands look just alike…

As someone who is getting older, its sort a crazy feeling to look down & actually realize that you DO have your mother’s hands.

This moment was when she was getting her bridal dress fitted.  She was holding up the top layer of her dress so they could hem the layers underneath… a beautiful hand, with a beautiful ring, holding a beautiful dress…

This is beautiful Kaylyn…

I was so excited to do this young lady’s senior pictures as she is just beautiful to begin with – but just so awesome with all the things that she’s involved with… she’s athletic & just adorable on top of it.

It was great just talking & getting to know her as we went around to her school, to a park & to just hanging out even while a downpour got us.  I have definitely made a new friend in this young lady… the best part of the job😉

Doesnt she just have it all?  Hoping her Senior Year is full of wonderful memories…

Enjoy the slideshow of a few of the shots we took…
